This interim notice covers the public website and waiting list. A fuller product notice will be published before anyone is invited to create work inside The Odyssey.
Who we are
The Odyssey is the service responsible for the personal information described here. Questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@the-odyssey.co.uk.
What we collect
If you join the waiting list, we ask for your name, email address, creative interest and your consent to receive updates. Standard technical information may also be processed when you visit the website, such as an IP address, device type and basic security logs.
Why we use it
We use waiting-list information to manage beta interest, send relevant product updates and understand the broad kinds of creative work people hope to make. We use essential technical information to operate, protect and improve the website.
Our lawful basis
We rely on consent for optional waiting-list communications and legitimate interests for proportionate website operation and security. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.
Who receives it
The website and waiting-list database are hosted through OpenAI Sites, using Cloudflare infrastructure. Future email delivery providers will be added here before the first update is sent. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Waitlist information will be kept until the beta invitation period ends or you withdraw, then deleted or converted into an active account record if you choose to join. Security logs are retained only for a proportionate operational period.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive your information, or object to its use. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page as the service, suppliers and product data flows are finalised. Material changes will be clearly dated.
